Job Title:            Senior Solutions Architect (EMEA)

Location:            Home-based and remote working as appropriate.

Term:                  Permanent (PAYE) 40 Hours per week. 09:00 – 18:00.

Salary:                Based on experience including benefits.

Summary;

Reporting into the EMEA Technical Director; The appointed candidate will be required to take a leading role in supporting customer and strategic partners in all technical aspects relating to the deployment and specification of SOLiD Technologies portfolio. This includes (but is not limited to) site-specific integration and commissioning, product training, fault diagnostic, and onsite repairs. Along with pre and post-sales technical guidance and support.

The candidate will be expected to work both from a home office location and out in the field. With a requirement to travel across Europe. As well as into UK, Middle East and African regions as and when business demands require.

The successful candidate must have extensive in-depth experience in a range of radio frequency (RF) passive and active distributed antenna deployments typically found within in-building and tunnel deployments. Along with an excellent understanding on how single and multiple mobile network operator solutions are designed, integrated and acceptance tested enabling them to provide guidance and technical assistance based on their own past experiences.

The candidate is required to have an in-depth understanding of radiating cable designs, analogue and digital RFoF architectures, cellular base stations, downlink budget analysis, uplink noise analysis, and industry-standard technical requirements and baseline deployment guidelines. Experience working on high-value technical bids, proposals, and pre-sales bid stage activities is also required.

Main Role Responsibilities;

In relation to the SOLiD Product Portfolio;

  • Take responsibility for all customer-related commissioning and integration activities. Both remotely and onsite.
  • Be responsible for ensuring first-line technical support requirements are fulfilled. Involving both remote and local troubleshooting requests.
  • Take overall ownership for requests coming in via the EMEA support email mailbox.
  • Provide a technical interface between a client and our HQ technical support and R&D teams.
  • Support the sales and business development department with any pre-sale and post-sales activities.
  • Assist and support all approved onsite technical troubleshooting and HW diagnostic activities.
  • Coordinate and host technical training sessions for our customer base. Including live demonstrations.
  • Support the Technical Director with all technical proposals, ROM costs, bill of Materials and new system architecture schematics.
  • Review and evaluate customer produced designs proposals, ensuring the SOLiD portfolio is correctly utilised
  • Ensure HSQE is maintained throughout all aspects of the role.
  • Take a leading role in supporting business development enquires at a technical level as required.
  • Support, guide and assist less experienced members of the EMEA technical department.

Baseline Required Knowledge/Skillset;

  • Experienced in commissioning active RF over fibre (RFoF) DAS solutions including noise and link budget analysis. With at least 5years’ experience.
  • Excellent understanding of RF in-building design activities, experience of multi operator designs including active RFoF DAS, Small Cell, Off-Air Repeater deployments as well as passively deployed DAS solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of 2nd/3rd/4th/5th Generation radio networks and architectures.
  • In-depth understanding of optical fibre and structured cabling specifications and best industry practices.
  • Hands-on extensive experience in using specific network analysis lab equipment (Example: Network/Vector/Spectrum Analyzer, RF Signal Generator)
  • Experienced in using CW survey methods as both design validation and a system commissioning tool.
  • Excellent customer-facing skills interfacing at various levels (technical, managerial, and commercial) with high-profile customers such as Mobile Network Operators.
  • Ability to share knowledge in a coherent fashion and guide customers and colleagues alike.
  • Professional approach including good communication, presentation, and timekeeping skills.
  • Self-disciplined and motivated with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
  • Professionally qualified in an appropriate engineering or relevant subject.

General Abilities Include;

  • Must be able to achieve a European security clearance or airport airside pass application (5-year employment history, criminal records check)
  • Must be prepared to work outside of standard business hours (as required).
  • Be prepared to work on occasion a night shift based on prior arrangement and proportional notice.
