Chief Executive Officer

Seung Hee Lee co-founded Solid Technologies Inc. (now SOLiD Inc.) in November 1998, and currently serves as president and co-CEO. During the early stages of SOLiD, Dr. Lee led the company’s technology development as CTO and provided executive leadership and guidance as COO. Under his direction, SOLiD has grown to be a leading provider of wireless coverage solutions for communication networks including CDMA, WCDMA, WiBro (mobile WiMax) and satellite digital multimedia broadcasting networks. Prior to SOLiD, Dr. Lee was a senior member of the technical staff at SAIT (Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology), leading research on digital communication technologies. In 1998, he was appointed as a technology consultant for the future strategy team at Samsung and was a visiting scholar at Stanford University. Dr. Lee holds a B.S. degree in Electronics Engineering from Korea University and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University.

Ken Sandfeld
President, Americas

Ken Sandfeld is President of SOLiD Americas and is responsible for SOLiD’s wireless coverage and capacity enhancing product portfolio including Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) and Optical Transport solutions. Ken’s wireless experience spans over 20 years with industry notables including Spectrian, Remec and MobileAccess. With a proven track record launching innovative wireless technology, Ken is focused on solving the industry’s densification challenges by bringing SOLiD’s Next Generation DAS solutions for indoor and outdoor applications as well as advanced tunable DWDM & high capacity passive CWDM optical solutions that provide ultra-densification of wireless coverage across all verticals and venues.

Karl Schneider
Chief Financial Officer

As Global CFO, Karl Schneider provides executive leadership and oversight of the SOLiD’s global financial operations and initiatives. Prior to joining SOLiD, Karl spent 13 years as Zoran Corporation’s Chief Financial Officer, where under his guidance, the company grew revenues from $44 million to over $500 million. Karl’s financial leadership spans a wide variety of technology sectors and an impressive multinational and global portfolio. Mr. Schneider is a former CPA and holds a B.S. in Business Administration from San Diego State University.

Scott Deweese
Scott Deweese
Senior Vice President, Operations

Scott Deweese is the Senior Vice President of Operations for SOLiD and is responsible for all post sales operations across the Americas which includes logistics, assembly, configuration testing and technical support of all SOLiD equipment orders. Additionally, his team is responsible for all professional services to SOLiD’s channel partners and customers to ensure successful overall project delivery. Scott has nearly 20 years of business development, sales and operations experience in the wireless industry. Prior to joining the SOLiD team, Scott served as the Executive Vice President of Intenna Systems and had sales leadership roles with MobileAccess and Andrew Corporation. Scott served 6 years on active duty as a commissioned officer in the United States Army upon graduating from the University of Central Florida.

Seung Jong Kim
Seung Jong Kim
Vice President, Operations

Seung Jong Kim serves as Vice President of Operations and is responsible for strategic business operations including product forecast, procurement and logistics for the Americas market. Seung Jong has over 17 years of global sales, business development, and operations experience in the wireless industry, with 13 years focused in the Distributed Antenna System (DAS) market at SOLiD. Prior to joining SOLiD, Seung Jong held business development roles at Tellord for convergence network, ubiquitous sensor network and telemetry solutions.

Slavko Djukic
Vice President, Product Line Management and Technology, Americas

Slavko Djukic has more than twenty years of experience in telecommunications products and services. He most recently served as Zinwave’s Chief Technology Officer, responsible for setting and delivering the company’s wireless technology roadmap. Prior to Zinwave, he served as Ericsson’s head of strategy and solutions for various wireless technologies. Prior to that, he served in a global wireless role for Corning as well as a leadership role with Powerwave, where he built and led the wireless solutions organization for the Americas. He received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alabama and his M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado.

Dr. Ali Sadri
Vice President, Engineering, mmWAVE Solutions, Ph.D.

Dr. Ali Sadri is Vice President of Engineering for mmWave Solutions at SOLiD. Previously he served as General Manager of mmWave Standards and Advanced Technology at Intel Corporation. Dr. Ali has more than 30 years of scientific and engineering background starting at IBM, Duke University and at Intel since 2002. Dr. Sadri has  demonstrated successful track record of building breakthrough technologies such as WiGig 60 GHz standards , mmWave mesh Backhaul and disruptive mmWave Distributed Relay. Dr Sadri has over 150 patents all in wired line and wireless communications system. Ali serves as an international advisor to Tokyo Institute of Technology  on the WISE (World-leading Innovative & Smart Education) program for Super Smart Society.

Doug Bierbower
Vice President, Marketing

As Vice President of Marketing, Doug Bierbower is responsible for SOLiD’s marketing strategy, product marketing, social media, and customer communications.  Doug held previous roles at SOLiD in product management and business development.  Before working at SOLiD, Doug was responsible for product line management at InnerWireless and Black Box.  With more than 20 years in telecommunications and 16 years of inbuilding wireless experience, including system design, optimization, technical support, project management, product management, and sales engineering, Doug has a holistic view of the industry.  Doug holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio.  He served in the United States Army as a paratrooper, a medic, and is a veteran of Desert Storm.
